HOPE

And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

Thoughts on Verse...
Hope has become such a "wimpy" term in modern vocabulary. It hardly qualifies as an adequate translation of the meaning in most New Testament passages. Hope is the assurance that what we believe will happen. We could call it spiritual confidence. We have that spiritual confidence because more than just a wish, more than just an emotion, more than just a belief rests in our heart; God himself lives in us through his Holy Spirit. When we become Christians, Jesus pours out the Spirit upon us (Titus 3:3-7) as God's gift to us (Acts 2:38; Acts 5:32) to cleanse us (1 Corinthians 6:11), make us part of the same Body (1 Corinthians 12:12-13), and live inside us (1 Cor. 6:19-20). Paul adds one more thing to that list of blessings from God's presence within us — God's love. We don't just have it; God keeps refreshing it through the Holy Spirit, just as Jesus had promised (John 7:37-39).

My Prayer...
Holy and Almighty God, awesome in power and majestic in holiness, thank you for not only coming to us in Jesus, but thank you also for living in us through your Spirit. Please pour your love into my heart so that the fruit of your grace may flow from me to those around me and everyone around me will know of your grace. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

THE DEVIL’S VISION

The devil once said to his demons below,
"Our work is progressing entirely too slow.
The holiness people stand in our way
Since they do not believe in the show or the play.

They teach that the carnival, circus and dance,
The tavern and honky-tonk with game of chance,
Drinking and smoking, these things are all wrong;
The Christians don't mess with the ungodly throng.

They are quick to condemn everything that we do
To cause unbelievers to be not a few.
They claim that these things are all of the devil;
That Christian folks live on a much higher level.

Now fellows, their theology, while perfectly true
Is blocking the work we are trying to do.
We will have to get busy and figure a plan
That will change their standards as fast as we can.

Now I have a vision of just what we can do.
Harken, I'll tell this deception to you.
Then find ye a wise, but degenerate man
Whom I can use to help work out this plan.
There's nothing so real as the things that you see;
The eyes and the mind and the heart will agree.
So what can be better than an object to view?

I say, it will work and convince quite a few.
The home is the place for this sinful device;
The people deceived will think it quite nice.
The world will possess it, most Christians can't tell
That it is all of the devil and plotted in hell!
We'll sell them with pictures of the latest news;
While they're still looking, we'll advertise booze.

At first it will shock them; they'll seem in a daze;
But soon they'll be hardened and continue to gaze.
We'll give them some gospel that isn't too strong,
And a few sacred songs to string them along.
They'll take in the ads, with the latest of fashions,
Soon watching the shows that will stir evil passions.
Murder and love-making scenes they'll behold
Until their souls will be utterly cold.
The old family altar which once held such charm
Will soon lose its place without much alarm.

Praying in secret will also be lost
As they look at the screen, not counting the cost.
Compromise preachers, who don't take their stand
Will embrace this new vision and think it is grand.
They'll help fool the people and cause them to sin.

By seeking this evil and taking it in.
Influence is great and this you can see;
Just look at my fall and you'll have to agree.
It won't take too long, my demons, to tell
That the vision of Satan will populate Hell!
Divorce will increase, sex crimes will abound;
Much innocent blood will be spilled on the ground.
The home will be damned in short order I say
When this vision of mine comes in to stay.
Get busy, my cohorts, and put this thing out;
We'll see if the church can continue to shout.

The holiness people who stand in our way
Will soon hush their crying against show and play.
We'll cover the earth with this devil vision.
Then we'll camouflage it with the name television.
The people will think they are getting a treat
Till the Antichrist comes and takes over his seat.
He'll rule the world while the viewers behold
The face of the beast, to whom they were sold.
We'll win through deception, this cannot fail;
Though some holiness preachers against it will rail."

DEVIL WEAPON

The TV is my shepherd, I shall not want.
It makes me lie down on the sofa.
It leads me away from the faith.
It destroys my soul.
It leads me in the path of sex and violence for the sponsor's sake.
Yea, though I walk in the shadow of Christian responsibilities,
There will be no interruption, for the TV is with me.
Its cable and remote control, they comfort me.
It prepares a commercial for me in the presence of my worldliness.
It anoints my head with humanism and consumerism.
My coveting runneth over.
Surely, laziness and ignorance shall follow me all the days of my life,
And I shall dwell in the house watching TV forever.

ONE OF THE DEVIL'S CHIEF WEAPONS TO DAMN YOUR SOUL?

We are naturally desirous of spending
time with the thing, animate or
inanimate, we love the most.

Honestly ask yourself then, do you spend more time
with the God of Heaven or the TV? How
could we, as professing Christians, waste
the free hours the Lord God has
graciously given us to serve Him by
spending countless hours with the filth of
the world coming from the television?
"Bad company corrupts good
character" (1 Cor. 15:33). Is there any
worse company than the smut of
Hollywood? Does the devil and our sinful
natures really need all that help to
distract us away from our goal and
purpose here in the natural, not to
mention causing us to think sinful
thoughts?

What will you do, if you make Heaven,
when you find out there's no TV? Know
why there will be no TV in Heaven?
Because it will be thrown into the fiery
furnace along with everything else that
causes sin (Matt. 13:41,42). By the way,
have you thought about what you will say
to the Holy One when you stand at the
Judgment and He asks you about the
thousand or more hours you wasted every
year in front of the TV? That's what it boils
down to if you watch 2.75 hours or more of
TV every day! Are you spending an equal
amount of time praying, fasting, witnessing,
studying your Bible and meditating in the
things of the Lord? Can't (or won't) do those
things, you say? Too busy, too tired, too
weak? The prophetess Anna was an old
woman, probably in her eighties, who served
God continually by fasting and praying (Lk.
2:36,37). Maybe you can't fast three days
straight, but anyone can fast for a couple of
hours, distribute salvation tracts or leave
them laying around where people can pick
them up, give to the poor, call on a sick or
old person, pray with someone, etc.

Be honest with yourself. If Jesus came to
your house to spend a day, would you be
ashamed and quickly change the channel,
or leave it off altogether for the time He
was there with you?
If this article is speaking to you, it's not too
late for you since you still have breath in
your body. You can repent, ask God to set
you free from the desire to please that old
sinful nature, and begin to use those hours to
store up for yourself treasure in Heaven, as
commanded by Jesus (Matt. 6:20)! You can't
change what you've done in the past, but you
can improve your future! What's really
important is, how you finish your race (1
Cor. 9:24).
Paul was writing to Christians when he said,
"Finally, brothers, whatever is true,
whatever is noble, whatever is right,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely,
whatever is admirable -- if anything is
excellent or praiseworthy -- think about such
things" (Phil. 4:8). You won't often, if ever,
find these things on secular TV.
Remember that it is a fundamental, basic
truth that where our minds are set, our
behavior (or lives) will follow.

Romans 8:5,6
read:
"Those who live according to the sinful
nature have their minds set on what that
nature desires; but those who live in
accordance with the Spirit have their minds
set on what the Spirit desires. The mind of
sinful man is death, but the mind controlled
by the Spirit is life and peace."

TV BLESSING OR TOOL OF THE DEVIL?

Since the invention of the TV society has gradually become more vile and demonic over the years. It has been said that Clark Gable was the first person to use profanity in Gone With The Wind. In our day, this seems like kid’s stuff compared to what is heard and seen. In our cartoon a person whose mind is in neutral watches and hears things that have often been produced from godless Hollywood. Such has become a habit for many, much like any other kind of addiction of the flesh, that one needs to turn from. Misusing God’s holy name on TV is semi-common, even though this is a very serious sin: You shall not misuse the name of the LORD your God, for the LORD will not hold anyone guiltless who misuses his name (Exo 20:7). They speak of you with evil intent; your adversaries misuse your name. (Psa 139: 20). If you call yourself a “Christian,” how can you just sit back and allow these wicked people to blaspheme God’s holy name in your house and not be angered to the point of turning from it? Have you forsaken your first love (Rev 2:4)? Even using euphemisms are not proper for a Christian. Also, from the cartoon it is apparent that this unclean habit of TV watching has a hypnotic, intoxicating effect even to the place of taking some or part of one’s time away from personal Scripture study. (Before the invention of this vile tool the Bible was not in competition with the TV in our raging spiritual battle. Television is one problem the Christians in the days of the Apostles never had to battle with.) Perhaps TV is part of the reason why there is such general ignorance of the Bible and false doctrine in Christian circles. It is so bad that it seems the average professing Christian knows the TV stars and sports figures better than the characters in the Bible. They can’t remember where certain verses are in the Scriptures but they know the characters, times and channels of their favorite TV shows! Getting back to our cartoon picture, what is the man in the cartoon watching?

Though we can’t be sure, several possibilities are:

P-He is watching one of the innumerable detailed, graphic sexual scenes shown in the course of a month.

P-He has tuned into one of the many talk shows where they are discussing one of the perverted but common things that is of interest to the sinful nature, but that also spiritually defiles the viewers.

P-He is watching a violent, brutal beating and murder take place that is real to life. The TV viewer is certainly being slowly desensitized to the evils of the world as the world comes into his home and mind through the TV. (Note: He doesn’t have to go out into the world—he allows the world with all of its evils to invade his precious home setting.) If others in his family, or even his friends, would see the same pictures and hear the same words they too could be spiritually defiled as well. Have you ever consider the seriousness of this? Jesus said to his disciples: “Things that cause people to sin are bound to come, but woe to that person through whom they come. It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin. So watch yourselves” (Luke 17:1-3). The aforementioned Scripture is especially indicting for parents who use TV as a babysitter. TV might hold children’s attention but it also exposes them to wicked words, sights and the world’s deadly values that can lead them into sin and away from God.

Also, cartoons are filled with violence. See Gen 6:11-13 to learn how serious this is. What are some of the subtle things that are happening to those who watch TV? They are being desensitized to the evils of divorce, sexual immorality, “living together,” suicide, materialism, anger, violence, murder, rape, revenge, lying, cheating, stealing, hatred, homosexuality and much more. In addition, chances are he is gradually becoming lukewarm, if he is still a Christian at all. Regarding this danger, Jesus taught: So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth (Rev 3:16). The divorce and promiscuity rates in society have escalated, as TV portrays these evils as commonplace and normal. God hates divorce (Mal 2:16), and immorality will exclude one from the Kingdom (1 Cor 6:9,10; Eph 5:5-7). How God must hate TV! All of that is serious enough but what about the lust that this tool from the devil is generating in viewers’ hearts? Regarding this the Lord taught: But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart (Mat 5:28). It is our conviction that more adultery is being committed before the TV, as viewers watch it and lust in their hearts, than in all the brothels put together! After all, isn’t this the reason many dress immodestly on TV (and in society) as they do? Notice what the Bible says about modest apparel: I also want women to dress modestly, with decency and propriety, not with braided hair or gold or pearls or expensive clothes (1 Tim 2:9). Lusting in the heart will damn one’s soul and must be firmly resisted
If your right eye causes you to sin, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell (Mat 5:29). Notice what righteous Job did about lust: I made a covenant with my eyes not to look lustfully at a girl (Job 31:1). Often women on TV seemingly dress to try to get men to lust after them. Such are no better than prostitutes, as far as leading people into sexual sin. Regarding religious TV, there are many savage wolves in sheep’s clothing openly teaching heretical things on TV like, You cannot out sin the grace of God, as eternal security teacher Charles Stanley has taught in the past! Imagine the danger a savage wolf poses to a sheep (Christian)! This reflects the danger of a false prophet (Mat 7:15). Christians are to guard their hearts (Prov 4:23).

Among other ways, this is done by protecting yourself from such Satanic teachings as eternal security and others. Scripture declares: I urge you, brothers, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people (Rom 16:17,18). False teachers and their lies cause divisions and deadly deceptions and must be avoided. False teachers are, therefore, very dangerous and this alone is cause enough to spend less time watching religious programs and more time directly in the Bible reading, rereading and pondering the precious eternal truths that God has given mankind, and then putting them into practice (Mat 7:24; Luke 8:21; James 1:22). Certainly some good has resulted from religious TV and Christian videos, but the harm far outweighs the good. Friend, don’t deceive yourself: The truth is TV, among all of its other evils, is also a waste of precious time that could be used serving God. Since we are all going to account for our free time, among other things at the Judgment, we must take these spare time opportunities seriously and use them to bring forth good fruit. Remember, Jesus taught: Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire (Mat 7:19).

God wants gain from his children. The servant of God who was given money (talent) was expected to bring forth gain but was lazy and failed. Notice, there was no eternal secucommon with an unbeliever? What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. Therefore come out from His master replied, “You wicked, lazy servant! So you knew that I harvest where I have not sown and gather where I have not scattered seed? Well then, you should have put my money on deposit with the bankers, so that when I returned I would have received it back with interest. Take the talent from him and give it to the one who has the ten talents. For everyone who has will be given more, and he will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what he has will be taken from him. And throw that worthless servant outside, into the darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Mat 25:26-30). Furthermore, the Bible never shows general entertainment as part of the life of a Christian. Neither does it ever state viewing sports as being exemplary or even normal for a Christian. Dear friend, turn from your TV and stop allowing the devil to use it in your life to your own spiritual harm. Remember 2 Tim 2:4 and 2 Tim 2:16: No one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs—he wants to please his commanding officer.

Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Christians are called to live holy lives (2 Tim 1:9). In fact, it is imperative to live this way to enter the kingdom of God: Make every effort to live in peace with all men and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord (Heb 12:14). Consider also the following:

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God (Mat 5:8). The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up (Gal 6:8, 9). We are also to come out from the world, be separate and keep ourselves from its spiritual pollutants: Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? What harmony is there between Christ and Belial?

What does a believer have in them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you. I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty (2 Cor 6:14-18). Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world (James 1:27). You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God (James 4:4).

Unscriptural Excuses For Watching TV:

I’m lonely.

I’m tired and just want to relax.

I watch only shows like Little House on the Prairie, Angels on Assignment, Family Matters, The Cosby Show, Family Ties, Leave it To Beaver, America's Most Wanted, nature programs, etc.

I watch only “Christian” stations and never the X-rated shows.

I watch only the educational channel.

Everyone watches TV.

We’re not under the law so it’s permissible.

What else am I supposed to do?

Watching TV helps to prepare me for bed time.

I worked all day; now it’s time for me to enjoy myself.

There’s more to life than just reading the Bible. If you say you watch only the “clean” shows and the news, what about the beer and all the flesh-exciting commercials that are shown in between the scenes with women scantily dressed in a provocative way? Is it possible to survive without watching TV in our day? Absolutely! Serious Christians have been doing this for a long time. You can too, but you must battle against the devil’s subtle temptations of TV viewing.

Remember, we are battling for eternity! Your eternal soul and the souls of those around you hang in the balance. If you view the Christian life as anything less than this you have already been lulled to sleep by your enemy, the devil, who is trying to destroy your soul. One final question, now that the convicting power of the Holy Spirit has been speaking to you as you read these truths (assuming you’re like many), what are you going to do about changing.

IS THE SDA CHURCH A MEMBER OF THE WORLD COUNCIL OF CHURCHES?

The following item appeared recently on an SDA Internet chat group. Has the SDA church been a MEMBER of the World Council of Churches since 1968, as the New York Times stated? Has the church lied to its members for decades on this serious issue?

admitted 9 catholic theologians on that date "to membership in its principal
theological body, the Commission on Faith and Order." Several paragraphs later
it adds, "Also admitted to were six representatives of other
nonmember shurches, including the Seventh-day Adventist Church . . ."

7. SDA's and the World Council of Churches

 

The New York Times informs:

 

"The World Council of Churches today admitted nine Roman Catholic theologians to membership in its principal theological body, the Commission on Faith and Order.... Also admitted to full membership were six representatives of other nonmemberchurches, including the Seventh Day Adventist Church...." - New York Times [USA], July 12, 1968.

 

An SDA church paper says:

 

"Since 1965 there have been yearly dialogues between the World Council of Churches and the Seventh-day Adventists.... Since 1968, the General Conference of Seventh-day Adventists is acknowledged by other international churches as a 'World Confessional Family.' The Adventist participation in the yearly conference of the 'world confessional families' has brought good results.... Conscientious cooperation is necessary, as long as there is no compromise regarding firmly established beliefs and religious aims."-Adventecho [German SDA paper], February 15, 1973.

 

Is every member of the SDA corporately responsible for the church’s membership in Babylon’s Council’s of Churches?

Many come to the assembly as worshipers, like the door upon its hinges. They understand not the true application of the Scriptures, nor the power of God. They have eyes, but they see not; ears have they, but they hear not; they continue in their evil ways, yet regard themselves as the privileged, obedient people who are doers of the word. A carnal security and ease in Zion prevail. Peace, peace, is sounded in her borders, when God has not spoken peace. They have forfeited the terms of peace; there is reason for an alarm to be sounded in all "my holy mountain." The sinners in Zion should be afraid, in a time when they do not expect it, sudden destruction will surely come upon all who are at ease.” {RH, December 23, 1890 par. 10}

THE  CHURCH  AND  THE  WCC

When the subject of possible membership of the church with the World Council of Churches (WCC) comes up, many church members flatly refuse to believe or even discuss the subject.  Others resort to asking their minister if such is so.  These naively believe exactly what their minister states, and this settles the matter for them.  But others are not so easily turned aside, and want to know the facts in the case so that they can make the determination for themselves and then decide what to do.  It is for these careful and thinking Christians that we examine this issue.

     Before we determine whether or not the church we are members of is connected to and working with the WCC, it is imperative we understand a little more about this WCC.

     The World Council of Churches was formally constituted at Amsterdam, Holland, on August 23, 1948.  It is made up of various branch organizations controlled by the WCC.  The goal of the WCC is to unite all the religions of the world into one ecumenical package--or a one world church.  But in order to unite all the world's religions together, the differing doctrines held dear by these religious groups must be waived, and a focusing on those beliefs held in common must be central.

     One of the main branch organizations of the WCC is the National Council of Churches (NCC).  Also included in the organizational structure of the WCC are many lesser branches--such as the Ministerial Associations in the various public communities (SeeCollectivism in the Churches, p 60, by Edgar C. Bundy).

     The National Council of Churches is an organization formally known, before 1950, as the Federal Council of Churches--organized in December, 1908.  The NCC is made up of various churches within the United States of America who have agreed to become members, and to further the goals of the NCC/WCC.

     The goal of the NCC is the same as the goal of the WCC, since it was the leadership of the Federal/National Council of Churches which formed the WCC in 1948 (see World Council of Churches: Religion or Revolution, by Hugh Moreton & N.W. Hutchings, p 3).  Their goal goes beyond just uniting all churches into one, and includes the same goals of Catholicism, the New Age, Free masonry, the Illuminati, the United Nations, and other satanic organizations--or the goal of a New World Order, with Lucifer as god and leader.

     To some this may be hard to believe, but the NCC itself states this in their recommendation of points to be followed in order to bring about world peace: "...a world government...Strong immediate limitation on national sovereignty.  International control of all armies and navies.  A universal system of money.  Worldwide freedom of immigration.  Progressive elimination of all tariff and quota restrictions on world trade.  A democratically controlled international bank...

     "A new order of economic life is both imminent and imperative through voluntary cooperation within the framework of democracy ." Time Magazine, March 16, 1942, p 44-48.

     The WCC and it's branch organizations are indeed involved in bringing about this "explosive political revolution" in Countries which are not following their plan for a One World Church and New World Order.  The following are a few examples.

     The WCC gave $85,000 to an African Nationalist terrorist group--PATRIOTIC FRONT--who were waging guerilla warfare in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe in 1978 (see Seattle Times, August 25, 1981).  These terrorists killed over 1900 people, including eight British missionaries and their four children in Rhodesia that year (see Reader's Digest, August, 1982).  In 1974 the WCC gave 6,355 British pounds to members of the terrorist organization--ZANU--in Africa, which were responsible for killing 87 Rhodesian civilians (see WCC: Religion or Revolution, p 13).  Also in 1974, the WCC gave 50,000 British pounds to another Marxist guerilla force--FRELIMO (see Ibid., p 13).

     After the Rhodesian government fell to these terrorist groups, this statement was then given by their representatives at the WCC Conference in Melbourne, Australia in May, 1980: "Our hard-won victory did not come only through our own determination.  We were sustained and reinforced by the support--material, moral, and spiritual--accorded to us by the World Council of Churches, and its member churches." American Opinion, January, 1982, p 4.

     The WCC also gave funds to the Communist North Vietnamese government (see WCC: Religion or Revolution, p 16), the PLO, Cuba, and other pro-Soviet totalitarian movements (see Reader's Digest, January, 1983, p 120).  They also gave $823,000 to the Communist backed organization--SWAPO--in Namibia (see WCC: Religion or Revolution, p 28;American Opinion, January, 1982, p 2).

     As can be clearly seen, the WCC--including the NCC and other lesser branch organizations--is not working for God, but is definitely working against Him!  They are in complete union with the enemy of God, and are furthering Lucifer's goal of being the god and leader of a New World Order.  Hence no church of God should be connected to the WCC/NCC, let alone working with or supporting them.  But where does the money come from with which the WCC finances and supports Lucifer's goal of a One World Church and New World Order--including terrorist activities to bring this about?

     "The obvious question arises: From where does the money come [for WCC financing]?  The answer is: The money goes from your church to your denomination, to the National Council, to the World Council." American Opinion, January, 1982, p 12.

     Thus any church who gives financial or other support to the WCC, or to any of it's branch organizations, is guilty of supporting the move towards a One World Church and New World Order, the spread of Communism, the funding of terrorist groups, and the killing of innocent people and Christians!  And not only would the church itself be held responsible, but each and every corporate member of that church would be held guilty as well! (for Biblical proof of this corporate responsibility, see Jeremiah 26:15; Revelation 18:4).

     All the different churches which are members or member-units in these various branch organizations making up, and under the control of, the WCC, are technically members of the WCC itself.  But WCC policy states that no individual church is a member of it, only the various branches made up of the churches.  Thus, when any question arises as to whether a particular church is part of the WCC, the leaders of these various churches can technically tell their membership that their church is not a member of the WCC, when it really is through connection to the various branches!

     The following is a partial list of churches which are documented as being a part of, and cooperating or working with, the WCC/NCC; and some for many years: Anglican, Assemblies of God, Baptist (including Seventh-day), Brethren, Catholic (including Old), Christian, Church of God, Congregational, Community, Disciples, Episcopal, Evangelical, Friends (Quakers), Full Gospel, Holiness, Latter Day Saints (Mormon), Lutheran, Mennonite, Methodist, Missionary, Moravian, Orthodox (Bulgarian, Christian, Eastern, Greek, Hungarian, Romanian, Russian, Syrian, Ukrainian), Pentecostal, Presbyterian, Protestant, Reformed, Seventh-day Adventist, United, and Wesleyan (see Letter from the National Council of Churches of Christ, January 13, 1965, from Wilbur C. Parry, Associate General Secretary; American Opinion, January, 1982, p 11; Directory of Christian Councils, published by the World Council of Churches, 1985).

     Yet, even though church union and cooperation is clearly listed in various publications, many church leaders deny that their church has any connection or union with, or has given any support to, the WCC!  But the above list does not lie!  This means that all these churches, including every member of these churches, are guilty of supporting the goal towards a One World Church and New World Order, the spreading of Communism, terrorism, and aiding the killing of innocent people.  In fact, all those churches which are united in the above endeavor to establish a One World Church and New World Order are depicted in the Bible as being part of Babylon the Great--that great religious system of evil which works counter to God and seeks to destory His kingdom.

     God would have His church and people completely separate and distinct from all the churches of Babylon which are guilty of doing any of the evils listed above, that they might be a peculiar people unto Him as well as His special treasure in this world of wickedness.

     "And ye shall be holy unto Me: for I the Lord am holy,  

     "Now therefore, if ye will obey My voice indeed, and keep My covenant, then ye shall be  ..." Exodus 19:5 (see also Deuteronomy 7:6 & 26:18-19; 1 Peter 2:9).

     What have these churches done with God's will that they should be a separate, peculiar, special treasure unto Himself and to no one else?  They have rejected God's will, and have united themselves together with the churches in the WCC.  They have refused to be a special and holy people unto God, and have chosen instead to cooperate and work with Lucifer and his evil agencies to further his satanic goals!  They have spurned God's immense love and mercy showered upon them, and have instead become a treasure of the kingdom of Babylon.  How can any church and people really believe that they can do God's work, spread His gospel messages, fear, obey, and honor only Him, and give Him the praise and glory due His holy name, when they give up their peculiarity by uniting with the evil agencies and wicked organizations doing the bidding of Lucifer?  What blindness!  How can they be separate and peculiar when they are in union and allied with God's avowed Babylonian enemies?  Hence all of these churches and people are no longer God's peculiar church and people!

     By these churches allying themselves with the WCC, they have not only put aside and rejected the command of God to be peculiar from all the rest of the churches who work evil, but she has also rejected Someone else.  She has rejected the precious Saviour Jesus Christ!

     Christ spent centuries bringing His Christian church and people into existence.  Unceasingly He worked for His church, opening the eyes of His people to the precious truths which would polarize the world and prepare the way for His second coming and the end of sin.  Constantly He called His separated, peculiar, special, and treasured people to reflect His image and thus to vindicate God's character to the whole universe, proving Satan's accusations false.  And then to have His chosen people and church spurn His immense love, turn their backs and faces from Him, give up their peculiarity, and unite themselves with Satan as his harlotrous Babylonian bride and church: HOW MUST THIS MAKE CHRIST FEEL     How many tears has Jesus shed over this?  How much pain has He felt?  How much more agony must He endure?  What must He be thinking to see His professed people asleep believing that all is right with their church, when all is terribly wrong?  Oh, may our people awaken and see more fully what Christ is going through because a once-chosen people and church have rejected Him, given up their peculiarity, united in harlotry with His avowed enemy, and are working directly against Him with all the power and subtlety of the Devil!

     Since these churches have done all these things, how can they be part of God's chosen, peculiar, and true church anymore?  It cannot be anything but a counterfeit of God's true church!  And since it is not God's chosen and peculiar church anymore, then whose church is it?  Satan's!  And what is another name listed in the Bible for Satan's church?  Babylon!  And what does God want His true people to do regarding their connection and membership in any church which is in union with Babylon the Great?

     "And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.  For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities." Revelation 18:4-5.

     This last message of mercy reveals to every member of every church that is connected with Babylon the Great (being all those united with the WCC, as well as all other spiritualistic religions), that if they remain as members they will be a partaker of her sins, and will receive the plagues.  And the only pathway God has prepared for His people to walk to avoid being held guilty of Babylon's sins and being destroyed along with their apostate church, is to separate their connection and membership completely from that church, and instead to become connected with Jesus Christ and become a partaker of His grace and righteousness--thus having the assurance of eternal life.

through your membership in the church!  Thus how could you ever receive the seal of God and make it to heaven?  It would be impossible, because you are considered a partaker and sharer in all the sins of your corrupt church, and are no longer peculiar to God!     There is no way that any member of any church which is connected with the WCC and Babylon the Great, or with any other satanic religion and organization, can receive the seal of God until after they break all union with their corrupt church, and show themselves to be peculiar to God.  And if they refuse to separate, and choose to remain on the side of Babylon, then they show that they are ashamed of Jesus because they will not obey His voice to separate and be distinct and peculiar--standing on the Lord's side!  Thus they will be destroyed, along with their apostate church.

     Thus the only way to regain your peculiarity and again become part of God's chosen people, is to separate yourself completely from all churches which are part of, and in union with, Babylon the Great.  And until you follow this straight and narrow pathway of separation, you are not one of God's followers or one of His children!

     When do we regain our peculiarity to God--becoming His sons and daughters, and God becoming our Father?   only after we separate ourselves and all our connections with all the apostate churches making up Babylon the Great; not before, but after!  You can only make a covenant to serve God and Him only after you have broken all your connections and covenants--or membership--made with the church!  And until you do break all union with an apostate church, you are not God's child, He is not your God and Father, and heaven is not your home.

     God does not ask His people to go through this purifying process of separation alone, but has promised to help us if we will choose to return unto Him with a whole heart and start walking this narrow pathway.  Yet, God will not force anyone to return back to Him by separating completely from all connection with Babylonian churches.  It is a free-will choice.

     So what is you decision going to be?  Will you remain connected to any church which is in union and harmony with Babylon the Great and be held guilty of all her wickedness?  Or are you going to obey God, and go through the purifying process of breaking all connection with and separating from all the churches which are part of Babylon the Great, and regain your peculiarity with God, becoming His child once again?  Will you make this covenant of sacrifice to return unto God, and follow and serve Him only?  Will you escape from being guilty of Babylon's sins and receiving of her plagues?  Or will you cling to the church, share her sin, and suffer the wrath of God?

     "How long halt ye between two opinions? if the Lord be God, follow Him: but if Baal, then follow him." 1 Kings 18:21.

     "Flee out of the midst of Babylon, and deliver every man his soul: be not cut off in her iniquity..." Jeremiah 51:6.

     "And if it seem evil unto you to serve the Lord, choose you this day whom ye will serve...but as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord." Joshua 24:15.

     "And I will give them an heart to know Me, that I am the Lord:  for they shall return [separate] unto Me with their whole heart." Jeremiah 24:7.

THE BIBLE SIGNS OF THE END TIMES

If you take into consideration all the signs, there is no mistaking that our generation is living in the last days, nearing the second coming of Jesus. Problem is, Satan can see how close we are to the end of the world, which is why he brings certain people into the spotlight (like Harold Camping of recent times), proclaiming false dates for the second coming, which when those dates come and go, causes many people to turn away completely from the truth. The truth being that WE AREliving in the end times. The Bible is very clear on that. We just can't set specific dates for Jesus' return. But we CAN know when the end is near ... Matthew 24:33 ...'So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors ... And we are certainly now seeing " these things".

Before you read on, . In Matthew 24, Jesus speaks of wars, earthquakes and such things, but says these are just the "beginning of sorrows" and"the end is not yet". Now that word "sorrows" in the original language meant "birth pangs", the pain in childbirth. Now birth pangs speak of frequency and intensity. And as a woman gets nearer the birth, the "pangs" become more frequent and intense. This is true also for the signs of the end times. These signs began not long after Jesus' day, and as Jesus quoted, the end would not yet be, because this was just the beginningof sorrows. But throughout history we have seen the "pangs" (signs) become more frequent and intense, culminating in the day we live in now where the pangs are so frequent and intense that we must be right at the time of "delivery", when Jesus is to return. So don't let anyone fool you into believing that the signs today are just the beginning of sorrows and the end is not yet.

"The beginning of sorrows" started nearly 2000 years ago with the persecution of the early church and the destruction of Jerusalem. We are living at the end of time

ASKING AND RECEIVING GOD’S WILL

Every Christian person, indeed, most unbelievers, know that Jesus promised, "Ask, and you shall receive." In fact, if there is one thing we all know for sure, it is that life is filled with NEED – and that it is because of those needs that we ASK GOD. Of course, if we really knew the whole story, we would discover that God Himself may have created the need so that we would ask.

Jesus said, "Ask, and you shall receive. Seek, and you shall find. Knock, and it shall be opened to you." And then He added, "For EVERYONE who asks, receives. And he that seeks will find. And to him that knocks, it shall be opened." Just to make sure we understand, Jesus then reiterated, Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone? Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him? " (Matt. 7:7-11)

I’m not sure that these promises could be made more clear, or more certain. Jesus does NOT say, "maybe." He says IF you ask, you SHALL receive.

Here’s the problem: You and I ask for things from God. And the fact is, we DO NOT receive many of them. Now, if you always receive everything you ask from God, well then, I’m glad for you. But I can almost say for certain that every Christian asks God for things and does NOT receive.

Now, what makes this more difficult is that we are often faced with great need, conflict, and confusion. And THEN we ask God. But often THEN we don’t receive. Have you ever experienced this? You ask and ask, and there is only silence. And if you have any real honesty about you, it is going to make you wonder: WHY?

Of course, it would be easy to simply get nice and religious, and say, "Well, we cannot expect to understand the ways of the Lord. We have to simply take things by faith and move forward." Well, I suppose one could do that at certain points and do it in faith. I certainly would never insist that we must demand explanations from God, or insist that only that which we understand is of God. But often, this kind of reasoning is a big cop-out. I cannot accept that Jesus would make these tremendous promises, such as, "Ask, and you shall receive," only to mutter under His breath, "But what I really mean is that most of the time you WON’T receive, and you won’t know why you aren’t receiving." Such a conclusion is not what the promises say. No. Indeed, Jesus goes as far as to appeal to our own willingness to give to our earthly children. He says that our Heavenly Father is all the much more willing.

If you read the Bible, it is filled with God’s claims about His own faithfulness. In fact, even in this same sermon on the mount from Matthew 7, Jesus tells us we are, "of little faith," if we cannot see the obvious – that God is faithful. Indeed, if a relationship with God is possible to LIVE OUT in practical situations, there are going to be many times when we are going to have to TRUST GOD and burn our bridges. We are going to have to risk – if we can use that word for a moment – everything on God. We will have a choice to trust God or go another way – perhaps a safer way.

When we are faced with great need, or a crisis, it is usually then that we are faced with the choice to trust God, or to choose another path – one that is the result of giving up hope. In the face of these great promises of God, are we going to say, "Well, I guess it was too much to hope for, that God would actually help me. It is too much to expect that God would intervene and make a way where there is no way."? Are we going to say that? Or are we going to say, "I don’t see how God can help me. But He said that He would. I am going to ask, and I am going to receive."

Now, of course, I am not saying that you get to decide WHAT you receive. Nope. What you get to do is ASK. And we are going to talk about what that really means in a minute. But it is an incontrovertible fact that IF WE ASK, we are going to receive. What are we going to receive? Well, we are going to receive God’s answer and God’s solution. Perhaps not OURS. But it will be God’s. And what could be wrong with THAT?

The Will of GodThere are many places in the Bible that add to the promises of Jesus, and also which explain His words. For example, we know that the apostle John states that we need to ask, "according to His will." (I John 5:14) Jesus also said, "And whatsoever you shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it. "(John 14:13-14) Praying, "in the name of Jesus," is one thing Christians always tack onto prayer. But do we really know what these things mean?

Praying in the name of Jesus means that I am praying for whatever Jesus would pray for. It means exactly that – nothing more and nothing less. You and I have no authority at all to use the name of Jesus for anything else. The notion that if I add the phrase, "in the name of Jesus," to the end of my prayer, that this somehow legitimizes a prayer that is out of the will of God is nonsense. The name of Jesus is honored on a prayer that Jesus would pray – and it does not matter whether I say the word, or scream them otherwise.

This actually ties directly into the promise that if we ask, "according to His will," God will grant our request. How? Well, think about it: Jesus would only pray for GOD’S WILL. Nothing more and nothing less. Therefore, praying according to the will of God IS EXACTLY what it means to pray in the name of Jesus, and to pray in the name of Jesus is EXACTLY what it means to pray according to God’s will.

This should not be surprising. For Jesus said, "If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, you shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. "(John 15:7) Now note: WHOSE words must abide in us, such that when we ASK it will be done? The words of Christ. In other words, our asking is nothing more than HIS WORDS – i.e., HIS WILL – coming forth out of us to God in prayer. And since the words of Jesus are always the will of God, we are right back to the same principle: That we must be asking God for the will of God.

Hopefully, the Truth about all of this is emerging. God wants to do HIS WILL. And He wants us to ASK for His will. If we do, God is going to do HIS WILL. And NOTHING under heaven can stop Him from doing it!

Now, just in case we don’t realize it, by the time we really do ASK God to do His will, God’s will is going to be OUR WILL. Indeed, if God’s will is NOT our will, then we really aren’t asking. We aren’t praying in the name of Jesus, or praying according to His will. Nope. Everything depends upon our understanding this. TO ASK – means that we really want God to bring to pass what we are asking. We know that it is right, and we know that it is His will.

This is also verified in the sermon on the mount. Jesus said:

But when you pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking. Be not you therefore like unto them: for your Father knows what things you have need of, before you ask him. After this manner therefore pray: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.  in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen. (Matt. 6:7-13)

 

Jesus said in this passage that God already knows what we need BEFORE we ask Him. And yet we must ask. So HOW are we to ask God for what He already knows? Well, we are to ask, "Thy kingdom come, and Thy will be done." Note that. We are to take our need before God and ask Him to bring His kingdom into that need, and to do His will regarding that need.

In this we also see an indication as to WHY God wants us to ASK HIM for what He already knows we need. Obviously, this is not a matter of God making beggars out of us towards Him. Hardly. We just quoted how Jesus said our Father is more willing to give to us than we are to give to our natural children. So WHY must we ask of God before we can receive?

Because to ASK God for the will of God – especially for HIS WILL in our need – requires that something has happened in ME. Think about this. If God has a will for me, and I have a need, and God knows my need, what has to happen before I am able to ask God to do HIS WILL in my need? Well, I have to surrender to God. I have to believe God. Or, if you will, I must BECOME the will of God – I must come to the place where I truly WANT the will of God. Then I can sincerely ASK God to do His will.

We have to absolutely rid ourselves of the notion that we can ask God to do something we WILL Him to do, pray for it in the name of Jesus, and expect that God is going to answer. He isn’t. Instead of trying to GET God to do something we think He ought to do, we need to seek HIS WILL, and pray that He would bring that to pass. The FIRST thing God will do, in that case, is begin to make me compatible with His will.

Giving to GodSo many Christians have this whole thing backwards. We focus on what we can GET from God. Instead, we ought to focus on what GOD WANTS. Now, of course, if God gets what HE wants, we will be blessed. But natural thinking is blind to this.

Christian lives are to be for God’s glory and His will. The two always go together: Where His will is fulfilled, He is glorified. But notice what we usually do: We live for ourselves, and believe that this is what God wants us to do. We continually decide for God what His will ought to be, and pray unto that end. Ironically, we even believe that this is what God wants us to do. Somehow we get things so turned around that without realizing it, that we think God is here to service our life, and give us things as a reward for us trusting Him. Rather, we should be giving ourselves to God, and refuse to settle for anything less than His will and glory. If we would do this, we would both BECOME the will of God, and SEE the will of God come to pass in our lives every time.

In this day and age of, "name it and claim it," where we are taught that it is God’s will to make His will OUR will, and give us what we want – this Truth might seem revolutionary. But it is not. It is business as usual for God. God has a will. He wants to bring it to pass. But He will not bring it to pass until individuals become vessels for His glory, and get to the place where they will DO His will, and truly ASK Him to bring it to pass at all costs in their lives.

If you want to be absolutely certain that the will of God is done in your life, this is how: Refuse to settle for less. And hand yourself over to God for whatever it takes for Him to MAKE you His will. This covers all the bases.

Now, of course, if you do that, there is going to be a process necessary. God doesn’t just go ZAP and turn you into His will. YOU must change. But if you continue to surrender to God in that way God will have His will because He will have you. He will get all the glory. You will get the benefit.

Turning to GodWhen we are in great need it is often the time when God is trying to teach us the Truth on this matter. When we have a great need, we usually pray and pray that God would fulfill the need. But have you noticed how God often does NOT do so? In fact, how silent and aloof He can be at the times when you need Him the most? The temptation is to think that God has forsaken you, or that you have unconsciously forsaken God. But no. God has a will and purpose He is trying to adjust you for, so that He can bring it to pass. You may still be working towards another end. In short, God wants YOU to become one who is so at one with Him that you have BECOME His will. Then He can bring His will. And of course, with God’s will, is all that you need.

There are many other ways to say this same thing: God has to tear down our kingdom as He builds HIS up – in us. God has to make us TRUE if we are to know the Truth. God has to form us together with Christ if we are to walk with Christ. But if you examine all of these, they all come back to a RELATIONSHIP with God – rather than THINGS we get from God, and rather than a religious pattern.

One of the biggest fears some Christians have is that their great need is evidence that they are out of the will of God. The trouble is, they don’t know where they got out, or how to get back in. But this is all useless worry. First of all, if you ARE out of the will of God, you can get back in by simply turning to God and asking Him to do IN YOU whatever is necessary to bring you back in! Your turning, in and of itself, IS THE WILL OF GOD. Do we think that we are ever on our own – such that we are supposed to GUESS at the will of God? Or that God is sitting up in heaven waiting for us to get things figured out before He will help us? No. The most deceived person in the world is back on the road to Truth the moment they unconditionally turn to God. Indeed, the deception is when we don’t turn to God.

Remember the time when Jesus said that He was going to the Father, and the disciples complained that they did not know the way? He answered them, "I am the Way." In other words, there isn’t A way to God, or A way back to God – there is no method, formula, religious pattern, or even a thought pattern. There is only CHRIST. You can turn your heart to God through Christ, and based upon what Christ has done at any time – without anything else necessary. When you do, you are immediately in the will of God – for you are IN THE WAY. And any confusion or deception, indeed, any adjustments necessary in you, will begin. This is not only a privilege, but it is necessary. There is no other way to turn to God except through Christ by faith.

But you see, we think this applies only to salvation. We don’t think that as Christians it can be that simple. So we search for the right religious method – and oh, yes, we search for it right out of the Bible. People devise this or that pattern and say, "This is how to reach God. This is how to plug into God’s will." People will tell you to give money, submit to authority, pray this prayer or that prayer, partake of some anointing, or join the right church. No – none of these things are going to work. I’m not saying we don’t have to obey God. But I am saying that all obedience is to be the outcome of being rightly related to God by faith in Christ. You have to turn to Jesus as THE ONLY WAY, and then, if you do, everything else, including obedience, emerges from that. But bypass Christ and try to obey, or try to find another way to be right with God, and you will never come into the Truth.

Jesus said, "I am the Truth." Jesus is THE WAY, THE TRUTH, and THE LIFE. He followed up by saying, "No one comes to the Father except by Him." (see Jn. 14:6) But for many Christians this is merely a doctrine – and applies only for salvation. No. It applies to ALL situations in which we want to turn to God; come to God. We don’t turn to God through a way or religious method. Rather, we turn through Christ by faith.

Now, contrast this over and against what we usually think – that if we DO the right thing, that we have plugged into God, and that God is then with us. No. For you will quickly discover the flaw in such thinking: How do you know, "the right thing," to do? Furthermore, you are going to find out that even if you do the right thing – obedience, etc., -- that often it doesn’t solve anything. Thus, the solution here is to refuse the suggestion that you are separated from God until you do the right thing. Instead, abide in God through Christ BY FAITH – to the disregard of doing. Get that settled – you are one with God through Christ alone and NOTHING can separate you from Him. THAT is what it means to come – to ABIDE -- through Christ who is THE WAY. Any doing or obedience will follow.

No matter how much I might think I am out of God’s way at some point of my life, I can be assured that if I am in Christ I am in THE WAY – for HE is THE Way. By abiding in Him by faith FIRST everything else will come.

And what does it mean to abide in Christ by faith? It means to believe that you are IN HIM, and He is IN YOU – because of what HE has done. Not because of anything you must do. This is the foundation of grace, is it not? You won’t get far until to start with the right foundation.

We can turn to God in a moment. And if we do, we are IN THE WAY. We cannot know the Truth until we turn to THE TRUTH. We cannot be in the Way until we turn to THE WAY. A little child can do it. The problem is, we think it requires great brains.

ReductionAs easy as it sounds to simply turn to God through Christ, this is often the most difficult thing for us to do. Why? Because we don’t believe. We continue to think that we must come to God carrying some merit. If we don’t think we need to come with works, then we think we need to come with faith – faith, to us, often meaning emotional assurance, rather than real faith. So we present this or that to God, and He doesn’t respond. So we try harder. Lost on us is the fact that God is not waiting for us to present to Him better credentials. He is trying to get us to where we realize we have NO credentials, and simply come based on the Person of Jesus Christ.

Take note of your approach to God. Do you come to Him with a religious veneer? Do you find yourself praying what you think He wants to hear? Instead of being open, honest, and totally vulnerable, do you approach God being afraid of Him? Do you find yourself feeling as if you aren’t reaching Him at all, and then getting angry, frustrated, or even coming to the point of despair? Do you think you are the first person to ever experience such things?

I will promise you something: If you have given your life to Christ, there is nothing that can separate you from God. Nothing except ONE thing: The lie that tells you that you are separated from God. In that case, you are really NOT separated from Him, but if you believe you are, you might as well be, at least from your end of things. You will act like you are, feel like you are, and even begin to live like you are. You may even blame God for forsaking you – when, in fact, the problem is with YOU. You are believing a lie.

We are here talking about the very foundation of the Redemption – about the very Truth of the grace of God in Jesus Christ. Until THIS is settled, everything else is going to be disrupted. You know that is true. The moment you believe God has forsaken you, everything crumbles. But if you have assurance that He is with you, there is a wholeness. It may not solve specifics, but the foundation is there. And that is vital. The good news is that God’s faithfulness to you never was dependent upon you. It was always dependent upon Him. And He is always faithful.

Then why does it often feel – at certain seasons of life – that God is not with us? That when we pray, it simply bounces off the ceiling back to us? It feels that way – and FEELS is the right word – because we are looking at the OUR reactions in OUR flesh and using those reactions and feelings to determine whether God is there, or how God feels. But in truth, when you talk to God and feel a certain way – that is YOU. It is not GOD.

This works in human relationships the same way. We think we correctly perceive how someone feels about us – and what we use to determine that is OUR feelings towards them. How many times must we be wrong about this before we learn? It is ever more so about God. Do you and I actually believe that how we feel when we pray to God is how God feels towards us? I mean GOOD or BAD? Can’t we see that this is US creating God in our own image – out of the image of our own feelings?

So much of how we react to God, and what we believe about Him, is nothing more than our own character and flesh life creating a picture of God. We do this without even knowing it. We get afraid of God and so we think God is one who incites fear. We want our own way with God, and so we think God is against us. On and on it goes. At some point, the Holy Spirit must convince us that there is no Truth in us, and that we cannot call Truth from out of our emotions, flesh, or soul life. Truth must be revealed to us from the outside in. Not many Christians even believe that anymore. But it is basic to Christianity.

So how does God solve this dilemma? Well, often He must reduce us to where we are finally convinced that none of this religious, soulish stuff, works. He has to bring us to the end of ourselves. Of course, this is so EASY to say, and to memorize as a doctrine, isn’t it – it is so easy to go around preaching, "God wants to bring us to the end of ourselves." But the question is whether He HAS. And whether we are letting HIM. This brings us back to unconditional surrender. Ask God to bring you to the end of yourself, no matter what it takes. He will. It will take some time. But He will do it.

FaithEveryone knows that, "without faith it is impossible to please God." And we know that we must have faith if we want God to answer our prayers. But have you ever noticed, given these facts, what we often end up doing? Well, we TRY TO HAVE FAITH. Yep. We TRY to have faith. Once you know you are supposed to believe, well, then you will TRY to believe. But if you haven’t figured it out yet, you cannot TRY to have faith. Why? Because, by definition, faith isn’t something you can TRY. You either have it or you don’t.

Earlier, I stated that God has a will, and that He wants to bring His will to pass, first IN US, and then THROUGH US. I mentioned that we cannot pray IN THE NAME OF JESUS for anything except what Jesus would pray for – and that Jesus prays only for the WILL OF GOD. Not we can more clearly bring in the issue of FAITH. Have we realized that THE FAITH OF JESUS CHRIST can be ONLY for the will of God?

This is an absolute certainty. I cannot have the faith of Jesus Christ for anything except for that which Jesus has faith for. Another way of saying the same thing is that the Holy Spirit is in NOTHING except the will of God, and so you cannot have faith for anything except the will of God. To do so would mean you are OUT of sync with the Holy Spirit.

So what we are seeing is that THE WILL OF GOD, the FAITH OF JESUS, and the work God wants to do in us to MAKE US His will – these all agree. They are all the SAME purpose of God being worked out. God is working out HIS WILL. These are the aspects.

If God wants to MAKE ME into an expression of His will, then it follows that God is going to make me into an expression of the FAITH OF JESUS – which is always for the will of God. I will then be ASKING for God to do HIS WILL – because my life will already be an expression of His will; I shall have surrendered to Him for His will. MY will is going to be swallowed up by the will of God.

Now take note of something here. When we surrender our will to God, and ask Him to make us His will, we are not going to spend the rest of our lives continually striving with God over this. No. If my surrender is real, then slowly but surely God’s will is going to become MINE – even if I don’t know the specifics of His will as it pertains to me. I am going to truly desire God’s will – to the complete disregard of anything I might want. I will do this voluntarily, and joyfully, without any grudge, or without any second-guessing of God.

All of this is, of course, faith. I believe. But I want to get back to the question at hand: How do we come to the place where the faith of Jesus is actually operating in us? How do we get to the point where, instead of TRYING TO BELIEVE, we actually believe?

Well, think about it. Why do you believe anything? You believe based on what has been revealed to you, and upon what you conclude is true. Even in the physical world this is a fact. You believe because you have observed, learned, and concluded that something is the truth. Now, you can be deceived or wrong. But if you have concluded something is a fact, you do BELIEVE IT.

What this means is that before you can believe a fact, that fact must be presented to you. You cannot believe a fact that is unrevealed to you – that is, you cannot believe anything that is OUTSIDE of your knowledge. I cannot believe until I KNOW to believe, and I cannot believe unless there is something there TO believe. Thus, in a very real sense, faith in anything requires the revelation of that same thing.

If I asked you, "Do you believe in quasa-moristic zithum?," how would you answer? Well, I hope you would be lost, because I just made up that term. There is no such thing. But if I asked the same question about something real, and you never heard of it, you would still be lost. You cannot believe if you have no frame of reference. You cannot believe when you don’t know to believe. Belief – or, if you will, response of any kind – requires revelation.

Now, I’ve said all of this to get to a point with regards to God. And that point is this: You cannot believe anything about God, or believe the Truth, unless it is first revealed to you. You cannot.

This is totally in line with what the Bible says. Paul writes, "Faith comes by hearing, and hearing comes by the Word of God." (Rom. 10:17) Turn that around for clarity. It says, "The Word of God is necessary for hearing, and hearing is necessary for faith." Can we see from this that the end product of FAITH requires the initiative of God to speak His Word to us? That faith requires revelation? Sure. Now, revelation doesn’t guarantee faith. It makes it possible, IF we hear. But you cannot TRY TO HAVE FAITH if there is no Word of God given to you that you might believe.

There are other places in scripture that tell us how this works. But all of them go back to what we have already seen about the will of God. God has a will. And He wants to bring His will to pass IN US, and THROUGH us. So He begins by speaking it to us – by revealing to us His will. Of course, God is actually revealing to us HIMSELF. But often it is a Word or revelation in our hearts. It is often a point of moral accountability. It is at that point that we now have what we need to believe. God has initiated contact. How will we respond?

The Bible says that we will either HEAR – which means to open ourselves to God – or we will harden our hearts. If we hear, faith will emerge.

The allegory of a SEED is inescapable here, and really, Jesus used SEEDS to illustrate faith so often in His parabolic teaching. God plants a seed – HIS WILL and HIS WORD – into our hearts. If we hear His word, then it is as if the soil of our hearts embraces His word. It takes root, and eventually bears fruit.

Look at what this means: It means that from start to finish, this is ALL about the will of God. God speaks His will and His purpose. It is His Word, if we are open and HEAR, that takes root. It is His Word that results in faith – which is another way of saying that that we are to BECOME His will. God’s will – indeed, God’s LIFE that is in that seed – is that from which everything else springs – including everything that we become. Indeed, OUR FAITH is born out of the word God has planted in us.

Now, if you really look at what is happening here, it ought to completely revolutionize your walk with Christ. Can we see that FAITH – if it is real – does not originate from us as the source? Sure, we must hear; we must align our wills with God’s will and word. We DO have a part, because the soil is our heart. But this is not us creating faith. No. Rather, wrapped up in the seed, or WILL OF GOD – is the very faith that is necessary FOR the will of God. In other words, the only reason you CAN believe the Word of God, and believe for the WILL of God, is because that SAME Word of God carried all the potential FOR faith the moment God spoke it. This is exactly why you cannot have faith for anything except for the will of God. It is the will of God that works faith INTO YOU!

God wants to birth faith in us! But faith cannot be birthed in us unless His will is being birthed in us. The faith of Jesus Christ is only for the will of God, and if we are in the will of God, the faith of Jesus Christ is going to be there every time. But if we are not in the will of God, the faith of Jesus Christ will NEVER be there. This is an absolute spiritual principle.

There is no thought in the Bible anywhere that you are I are expected to figure out the will of God and then somehow generate the faith from ourselves necessary to bring it to pass. There is no concept that faith is a FORCE, or that we are expected to generate this force and make things happen. No. Faith comes from hearing the Word of God, which means surrender to Him, and the entire possibility of hearing to begin with is dependent upon God speaking His will to us. If God doesn’t move to reveal His will or speak His Word – if God doesn’t take the initiative, then we don’t have anything TO believe, and we might as well, as I illustrated earlier, invent our own truths, and terms, and then try to believe them.

Now, what we are able to see in all of this is again that God has a will and that God wants to bring His will to pass IN US and THROUGH US. Anything we want, or that we think, isn’t even in the picture. No. This is about GOD’S WILL, not ours. God is not confused or making this up as He goes along. GOD HAS A WILL. And God will initiate to bring His will to pass by first planting it as a seed in our hearts. The Holy Spirit will then bring us to the place where we must choose to surrender to God – to HEAR HIM – or refuse to hear Him. At this point, I don’t think it is usually much more than simply turning to God. Of course, this doesn’t happen in a vacuum – it is usually worked out along some practical line in our every day living. As we turn to God, and seek His will, we BECOME His will – that is, the faith for the will of God comes to birth in us, and we grow into a greater revelation of God Himself, and of His will in specific matters.

But can we see that all of this came from the SAME SEED – that wrapped up in the Word of God that He planted in us was the faith necessary? You cannot separate FAITH from the will of God. Again – you cannot have the faith of Jesus for anything except for that which Jesus has faith for, and Jesus has faith for ONLY the will of God!

This ought to be good news. For what it means is that instead of trying to figure out God’s will, we need only surrender to God Himself. Instead of trying to guess, and then instead of, "trying to have faith," we need only surrender to God Himself for His will, and the faith will be there. Indeed, that is the only place where any real faith lives – within the will of God.

Now, of course, someone might ask, "Well, it almost sounds as if you have to have faith in order to have faith. You said we must hear the Word of God for faith to be born. So how do you hear unless you already have faith? Which comes first faith, or hearing?"

Good question. Easy answer. "To each man is given a measure of faith." If you know enough to turn to God, you have some faith. And that is enough to turn to God when you begin to know to turn to Him in a specific matter. This is especially true if you are a Christian. If you have Christ in you, you have the Holy Spirit in you, and if God plants the seed of His will in you, you are capable of hearing and turning. You do have at least that much faith through the new birth. And if you do hear and turn you BECOME THE WILL OF GOD – and the faith necessary for the will of God will be there in you.

How different is the Truth of God from some of the stuff taught today? A great need today is that Christians seek the will of God – instead of being taught that God will make His will ours, if we pray hard enough! No. God has a will. We must BECOME His will. We need to be adjusted to HIM.

WarfareSpiritual warfare is always about the will of God. That is why most teaching in the Bible about it makes the battle of spiritual warfare the battle of FAITH. Faith is always about standing in, and refusing to move from, the will of God.

Here we begin to see why VICTORY in spiritual warfare is certain IF we stand in the will of God. If I realize that God has a will, and that He intends to have it, first IN ME, and then THROUGH me, I can stand by faith because I will realize that the victory doesn’t depend upon ME. It depends upon God. My part is to stand by faith. How can I lose?

In Christ, God has ALREADY WON. Get that. This is a finished victory, now being worked out in the hearts and lives of God’s people. The victory isn’t in question – whether we believe is in question. Thus, if we believe, and stand, His victory will be realized for us.

The Word of God cannot fail. The will of God cannot fail. Thus, if I am becoming His will through the seed of His Word in me, His will cannot fail to come to pass in me. Greater is HE that is in me – Jesus Christ – than he that is in the world. You cannot lose.

So what is the problem? The number one problem with Christian people, as it pertains to spiritual warfare is, yes, we don’t believe the victory is finished. But really, the bigger problem is that we don’t personally surrender to God. Rather, we hold things like His finished victory, and the need to surrender, as theological teachings.

The only way you will ever enter into the victory of Jesus Christ by actual experience is by surrendering personally to Jesus Christ and letting Him have full victory over YOU. You are wasting your time otherwise. You can pray, cry, praise Him, jump up and down, memorize all the passages about victory, and do a thousand good works, but in the end, you must personally surrender to God and personally COME UNDER His will, if there is to be any real victory in your life, let alone any real faith to stand in His victory.

Remember what we saw about the seed God plants. It wants to invade all of you. It is the source of faith and victory in YOU. But you must HEAR it – that is, come under it. In short, you must come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ. If you don’t come under the Lordship of Jesus Christ then how can you reign and rule with Him IN His Lordship over the enemy? It is a fact that spiritual warfare stands or falls on this one point – is Jesus YOUR personal Lord?

To the extent that I am surrendered to God and dependent upon Him I will be strong in His victory. I cannot have faith or live in victory if He does not have victory over me. I must HEAR the Word of God if there is to come of that seed God plants any harvest.

If you see the Truth in all of this, you see that the way we resist the Devil is primarily by submitting to God. Now, of course, we all start out saying we want to submit. But the warfare arises when we are tested. Thus, we must continually stand and believe.

The question is therefore, WHAT are we to stand FOR? Well, for God’s will, which is always victory. We are to stand in the assurance that God has a will, and that He wants to bring it to pass in us and through us, and that there is nothing that can prevent this from happening – once I am committed for nothing less. If you unconditionally commit yourself to BECOME God’s will, and to DO God’s will, and for Him to do HIS WILL in your life, whatever it takes – and if you ASK Him for that, and stand in that, and believe for that – and then continue to stand against all opposition – then God’s will is going to happen. It is certain.

God can do anything He wants anytime He wants. But He wants to do His will in and through us. He wants US to be an expression of His will. So God will begin by planting the seed of His will in us. Then we must HEAR and submit step by step. In time the faith will be there to BECOME God’s will. And then to DO and EXPRESS God’s will. This is all a process that Satan will oppose. Most often, he will suggest that God doesn’t care enough to have a will for you. Or he will point to the fact that God hasn’t done anything to try to prove to you that you are wasting your time. But no. God has a will – if there is one thing that is for sure, it is that. Thus, you cannot lose if you settle for nothing less against all opposition. It will happen – in you and through you.

AskTo ASK God to do His will implies surrender to God Himself. You many not know what God’s will IS, but you are surrendering to Him for WHATEVER it is, and for WHATEVER it takes to bring it to pass. You aren’t asking otherwise.

This is why Jesus told us to pray, "Thy kingdom come, and Thy will be done." We are asking God to tear down our kingdoms and our will, and everyone else’s, and to bring His will to pass. The first place God will begin is in our hearts.

God already knows what He wants to do in our lives – and I am not so much talking here about THINGS. I’m talking about what God wants to do as to RELATIONSHIP with His Son. God knows what He wants and how He wants to accomplish this. It all begins when God plants His seed in us – through the living Word. And then, as we hear, the faith will be there – but only for God’s will. And if we continue to stand and believe, we will become the will of God, and the will of God will come to pass through us. This all begins with GOD’S WILL for HIS GLORY. Along the way, however, if our will was not quite His, our will becomes His -- this is also the outcome of ASKING for God's will.  And because it does, God is able to give us all that we need because we are submitted to His will.

In the Christian walk, absolute victory is assured through the coming to pass of God’s will in Jesus Christ. What is required is that we ASK, SEEK, AND KNOCK – become those who truly desire that God’s will be done. And then believe and obey, refusing to settle for nothing less than God’s will and glory.

DELAYS - SOMETIMES GOD'S PLAN

Exodus 13:17-22 & Deut 8:2

Have you ever had a God inspired dream that didn’t happen as quickly as you thought it should? Yes, you had worked at it, but it seemed that many obstacles came against you. Finally, you gave up in despair. The dream lay dormant. I have always found the following quip to be an encouraging thought. 

 

Between failure and success the point is so fine,

We sometimes do not know when they touch the line.

Just when the pearl was waiting one more plunge,

How many a struggler has thrown up the sponge.

Then take this honey from the bitterest cup,

There is no failure except in giving up.

 

 

God had inspired a dream of the Promise Land in the heart of the Israelite people. They dreamed of a land that flowed with milk and honey. A land of freedom; A land where they could be free from the whips of the evil taskmasters of Egypt. Scholars say that the journey to the promise land was only a one-two week journey. However it took the children of Israel 40 years to get there.

 "And it came to pass, when Pharaoh had let the people go, that God led them not through the way of the land of the Philistines, although that was near; for God said, Lest peradventure the people repent when they see war, and they return to Egypt:"

We find in this scripture that God did not take the short route. When God wants to take you somewhere He may take you on the long path instead of a shortcut. Someone might ask, why did God take the long way which caused a delay in taking the children of Israel into the promise land? This delay was designed by God for a particular reason. Lets look at three ways God uses delays in our lives.

1.  The Israelites were a slave people and they weren't prepared for war, and God knew if they went to war they wouldn't be able to handle it. Every dream has its difficulties. God uses delays to get us ready for those difficult times that we are going to face during the course of our journey. These delays are designed to strengthen our faith and make us stronger.

2. . Deut. 8:2, "God led you through the wilderness for forty years... testing you to find out how you would respond and if you would obey Him." God uses delays to test how we will respond under pressure and to test our loyalty and obedience to Him.

3.  because sometimes it takes longer to get Egypt out of us than it does to get us out of Egypt. The culture and habits of Egypt was engrained in the hearts and minds of the Israelite people. God could bring them out of Egypt in one night but it would take years to get Egypt out of them. When you and I got saved we had habits and thought patterns that were of this world. When we got saved those thought patterns and habits came with us. God uses the delays to break those habits and thought patterns and train you in His way of thinking and doing things. The best thing to do when you are in God's waiting room is be patient and let God do His work in your life.

I want you to notice that it was God that was leading them to where they were going. Sometimes God will lead you through the wilderness. But I believe that your response determines how long you stay in the wilderness. 

Your test of maturity is how well you handle the delays in your life.

Sadly, the children of Israel flunked this test. They never made it through the delay. Only two Israelites who left Egypt actually got to go into the Promised Land. A whole generation had to die in the desert. The next generation got to go in. Only two of the first generation -- Joshua and Caleb -- got to go in. Why? Because they trusted God to take them

When you're going through the delays in your life, there's four things that you don't want to do. If you do these four things it will prolong the delay. Don't fear; Don't fret; Don't faint; Don't forget;

Exodus Chapter 13 & Numbers chapters 13- 14

This is the first mistake the Israelites made. There are a lot of reasons for the delays that happen in your life but this one is your own fault. God says don't be afraid. They were afraid to go forward at the Red Sea. And they were afraid to enter the Promise land because of the walled cities and the giants. They said `We are afraid... The people there are stronger and taller than we are and the cities are walled cities." They had enough faith to move out of Egypt but they didn't have enough faith to move into the Promised Land. They were afraid.

The problem with fear is that it keeps you in the wilderness; in the desert and barren stages of life. It prolongs the delay. Fear and faith cannot live together in the same house. Many of your dreams have never been fulfilled, not because of God, but because of you. Because you wouldn't step out in faith. God says Don't fear. Fear causes the delays in your life and keeps you from moving ahead.

The antidote to fear is to focus on God's presence.

Exodus 13:18, "But God led the people about, through the way of the wilderness of the Red sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt."

Exodus 13:21-22, "And the LORD went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people."

Realize that God is with you. When you're afraid to go after the dream God has given you, you need to focus on God's presence. He says, "I will always be with you." There will never be a time in your life when God is not with you. He's with you now, He always has been and He always will be. He's with you on your good days and your bad days. He's with you when you feel it and He's with you when you don't feel it. God says "I will always be with you."

Someone say's there are 365 "fear nots" in the Bible. If that is true, then that's one for every day of the year. God is saying, no matter what you're facing don't be afraid. "Fear not, for I am with you." Not because of positive thinking or motivational tapes or pulling yourself up by the psychological bootstraps. You'll never face any situation in life that God isn't facing it with you. We tend to forget that, and when we do we start being afraid. Don't fear but focus on God's presence -- He's with you all the time.

Some of you are in the delay phase right now. You've been praying about something and it hasn't happened yet. You start to think that God has forgotten you. God has not forgotten you. He knows what you're going through. It is a delay by design. God wants to build your character and He wants you to learn to trust in Him. You can count on Him for His help. Don't fear.

Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.

Psalms 37:7-8, Wait and trust the LORD. Don't be upset when others get rich or when someone else's plans succeed.  Don't get angry. Don't be upset; it only leads to trouble (NCV) .

Fret means worry. Don't get worried. Don't get uptight. We do that when we get into delays. We worry, get uptight, get stressed out. Worry will give you something to do, but worry will get you only cause strength to drain from you.

When you worry you bind the hands that can help you. God responds to faith not fear. Learn to trust God in the delays you face. After all it is God that is leading you.

God says don't fret, don't worry, don't get uptight about it. When we really grumble is when we're waiting for God to act. We get in a hurry. ProvAnd he sins who hastens with his feet." When we try to take matters into our own hands we get in trouble. We try to help God out. It's frustrating to be in a hurry and God isn't. God is never in a hurry. The Bible says with Him, a day is like a thousand years and a thousand years like a day. He's larger than time. One of the most useless things to try to do is to speed up God.

When you get impatient you start trying to work it out yourself. You get a dream from God, make the decision to go for it, and then when the delay comes and it's not fast enough for you, you start trying to figure out ways of doing God's dream on your own. You start trying to force the issue.

Abraham did this. God said He was going to give him a son. At 75 Abraham still didn't have one. Sarah was incapable of conceiving. He decided to have a child by Hagar, Sarah's hand maiden. Hagar gets pregnant and bears a son. They name him Ishmael. Abraham thought he had the miracle child in Ishmael. God said that Ishmael was not the miracle. That was just a normal conception. He wasn't the baby God said would be the miracle baby. God blessed Ishmael anyway and he also became the father of a great nation. He's the father of all the Arabs.

But God said there would be another child. Later Abraham had Isaac through Sarah who was way up in years and although she had never been able to have a child, at a grandmother's age she had a baby. Isaac became the father of the Jewish nation.

Don't fret, but trust God's timing. Psalm 37:7-8, "Rest in the Lord, wait patiently for Him to act. Don't fret and worry. It only leads to harm."

Resting in God is an act of faith to trust God's timing.. It means you're waiting on God. One time, Jesus and the disciples were in a boat and Jesus fell asleep. A big storm came up and the disciples freaked out. Jesus is in the corner of the boat sleeping. They wake Jesus up, Why are you sleeping? "Do you think God is going to let the boat sink with Me in it?" Jesus, by His sleeping, was saying, I can trust God even in the middle of a storm. I don't have to worry about it.

When we get into a storm, we lay awake all night. And we fret about it. The very fact that we're laying awake at night means we're not living by faith. We can't get any sleep because we don't really trust God to work it out. God says, "Don't fear, don't fret. Remember I'm always with you and trust My timing."

The verse says "Wait patiently for Him to act." When you wait impatiently it doesn't make waiting any better. All being impatient does is make you miserable.

"Don't fret and worry. It only leads to harm." Worry doesn't work. It just makes you miserable. So stop worrying and start trusting God's timing.

Eccl. 3:11, "God has set the right time for everything." God's timing is perfect.

When you go through the delays in life, don't faint. Don't get discouraged. Don't lose heart. Don't give up. This is the third thing the Israelites did and it kept them out of the promised land. Numbers 14 "All the Israelites grumbled against Moses... `If only we had died in Egypt! ... We should choose a leader and go back to Egypt." They gave up on their dream. They caved in. They had been in slavery 400 years but now because they are having a little bit of delay they want to go back to Egypt. "If only" and "go back" are phrases that are tell-tale signs you're discouraged -- that you're fainting, losing heart.

Numbers 14: 1-4,  "And all the congregation lifted up their voice, and cried; and the people wept that night. And all the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron: and the whole congregation said unto them, Would God that we had died in the land of Egypt! or would God we had died in this wilderness! And wherefore hath the LORD brought us unto this land, to fall by the sword, that our wives and our children should be a prey? were it not better for us to return into Egypt? And they said one to another, Let us make a captain, and let us return into Egypt.

If only -- means we start to second guess ourselves. When we get a dream from God, make the decision to go for it and if it doesn't come immediately we start second guessing ourselves -- "Maybe I didn't really hear from God. Maybe I just made this up. Maybe God is not listening and He doesn't care. If only I'd done something different. If only I'd done this or that..." We second guess ourselves.

And then we say "Let's go back to Egypt." When we go through delays in our lives life tend to idealize the past. We talk about the good old days -- which really weren't that good. The only thing good about them is they're over. The grass isn't greener on this or that side of the fence -- it's greener where you water it. The good old days always look better in hind sight than they really were. We get into a project, start having a delay, and then want to give up. The Israelites had been in slavery in Egypt.

Some people would rather live in slavery than face the fear of freedom. They are not willing to push through and work on the problem until they get it right. They want to go back, give up. They settle for mediocrity in life. Don't settle for less than God's best for your life. If that means going through a tunnel of conflict, take the tunnel. In the middle of the tunnel it's dark and you want to run back to the light. But you've got to keep going and you'll come out in the light on the other side.

Instead of fainting -- be persistent and pray.

Galatians 6:9, "Let us never grow tired of doing what's right, for if we do not faint, we'll reap a harvest at the right time." This is the law of the harvest: In life, you will reap whatever you sow. What you plant you will harvest. If you sow criticism, you will reap a lot of criticism in your life. If you sow love, you will reap love back in your life. If you sow generosity, you will reap back generosity. It's one of the laws of the universe. We'll always reap more than we sow. If I plant one kernel of corn, do I get on kernel back? No, I get a whole stalk with thousands on it. You always reap more than you sow. But in the Law of the Harvest there is always a delay between sowing and reaping. There's always a season. You plant in one season and you reap in another. There is a delay in between. God wants to see if you're going to keep cultivating, planting, sowing -- see if you really mean business. If God sees consistency in your life then the harvest comes. It will not come immediately because it proves nothing if He does it immediately. No delay, no character development, no stretching your faith.

Jesus said that about 2000 years earlier. Luke 18:1,You need to pray continually and not lose heart."You have two options in life, pray and not loose heart or faint and loose heart. You will always be doing one or the other. If you pray continually you will not lose heart, you won't be discouraged. If you don't pray continually, you will lose heart. You will faint. You will get discouraged by the problems you're facing in your life -- family, school, wherever. You've got to keep on praying.

What do I pray during the delay phases of life? Pray "Help me hold on and not give up." The Bible says,"They that wait upon the Lord, shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings, as eagles. They shall run and not be weary. They shall walk and not faint." They won't give up. They'll keep on keeping on.

Psalms 103: " Bless the LORD, O my soul: and all that is within me, bless his holy name. Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases; Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies; Who satisfieth thy mouth with good things; so that thy youth is renewed like the eagle's. "

During the delay, time causes us to forget many things. When there is a delay, we tend to forget our dream. We tend to forget what God had done in our life. We tend to forget God's goodness to us in the past. We tend to forget that God is with us. We tend to forget God's power. We tend to forget how important it is that we stay in God's strength and we start focusing on all our problems than on what He has done for us. The Bible says, Don't forget.

Psalms 106: 7-13, "Our fathers understood not thy wonders in Egypt; they remembered not the multitude of thy mercies; but provoked him at the sea, even at the Red sea. Nevertheless he saved them for his name's sake, that he might make his mighty power to be known. He rebuked the Red sea also, and it was dried up: so he led them through the depths, as through the wilderness. And he saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy. And the waters covered their enemies: there was not one of them left. Then believed they his words; they sang his praise. They soon forgot his works; they waited not for his counsel:"

This was the fourth mistake that the Israelites made out in the wilderness. Ps. 106 tells us "They forgot the many times God showed them his love, and they rebelled at the Red Sea. But He saved them as He promised. But they quickly forgot again! They wouldn't wait for God to act."

 This says many times. It's unbelievable how short their memory was. In Egypt, God does ten plagues and the children of Israel forget it because a couple days later they're at the Red Sea and saying "We're all going to die!" They've forgotten just what God's done. God does a miracle and opens the Red Sea. They walk through to the other side and immediately forget that miracle. "We're going to die of thirst!" God provides water miraculously. They forget that and complain, "We're going to die -- no food!" They were always forgetting.

But we should not be too quick to judge them because we do the exact same thing. When a delay occurs in our lives we start acting like God's never done anything for us. Has God done things for you in the past? Sure He has. You can count on Him to do it tomorrow, or the next day... When you act like, "God's not going to bail me out of this one!" you're forgetting all the other times He's bailed you out. Some of the times you didn't even know about it but He did.

What have you been forgetting about God, how He's helped you so many times?

The consequences of forgetting the Bible says is "...they would not wait." Instead of forgetting you need to remember God's promises. There are over 7000 of them in the Bible. God's promises are always greater than the problems you're facing. Ps. will bless the Lord and not forget the great things He does for me." You ask, Why isn't God fulfilling the promise in my life? He's waiting on you. You think you're waiting on God? He's waiting on you to learn to not fear, not fret, not faint, not forget. He wants you to learn that before He brings the solution He has some things He wants you to develop first; some growth patterns He wants you to put into your life. God's never in a hurry. He can do things immediately, but He's working on a larger agenda. The delays that come in your life do not destroy God's purpose. They fulfill God's purpose in your life. They make you a better person.

God will make a way where there seems to be no way if we will just learn to wait.

Hab. 2:3 These things won't happen right away. Slowly, steadily, surely, the time approaches when the vision will be fulfilled. If it seems slow, do not despair, for these things will surely come to pass. Just be patient! They will not be overdue a single day!"

The things you've waited for in your life, God will bring to fulfillment if you do not faint, do not fret, do not fear, do not forget.
